Representatives of corporate governance institutes from across Europe met in Istanbul on 10 September 2026 to discuss the future of board education.

TKYD hosted the Strategic Meeting of the Education Group of the European Confederation of Directors’ Associations (ecoDa), of which it is a member, in Istanbul on 10 September 2026. The meeting took place at Hergüner Bilgen Üçer Attorney Partnership with the participation of TKYD Board Members Att. Senem Denktaş and Att. Nihal Mashaki, and TKYD Acting Secretary General Hande Gürtepe.

Attended in person and online by representatives of member institutes from Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Malta, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia and Türkiye, the meeting was also joined by Arthur Hol (NCD), Chair of the ecoDa Education Group, and Béatrice Richez-Baum, Director General of ecoDa.

In the first session of the agenda, TKYD’s corporate governance education programs were presented to the representatives of ecoDa member institutes. Topics discussed throughout the day included participation trends in national board education programs and the evolving role of institutes, updates to ecoDa’s European Board Diploma (EBD) program, the integration of cross-cultural and sector-specific sensitivity into programs, a common approach to advocacy for board education, and training initiatives for members of regulatory and supervisory authorities.

The meeting concluded with a farewell session for Jean Coroller, former Chair of the Education Group, and a general wrap-up.
