Arban Çitak holds a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey and an MBA with a concentration on Operations-Decision Systems and International Management from Université Laval in Québec, Canada.

She started her carrier in Thunder Bay, Ontario where Bombardier Transportation had one of its railway plants. She worked in Bombardier Transportation in Montréal for 15 years where she directed large scale rolling stock projects, the biggest one being the 1030 subway cars project for New York City Transit Authority. She led the transformation in Project Management and played an important role in the spreading of the new Project Management System during the integration of Adtranz purchased by Bombardier in 2001. She held the position of Bids Director between 2005 and 2008 where she entered many big rolling stock tenders all over the world and signed prestigious projects.

In 2011, she joined Alstom Hydro Power Group in Turkey.  She worked as Project Director for Deriner, Beyhan-1 and Topcam Hidroelectric Power Plants. In 2013, she joined Alstom Transport as TIS-Transport Information Systems Managing Director where she led the establishment of TIS Istanbul Project Office and the growth of Istanbul to become the Central Office for MEA Region. She was promoted as Alstom Turkey Managing Director in 2014, executed many urban and mainline projects and carried the administrative responsibility for MEA region.

Since 2020, she has been working as an independent advisor, accompanying organizations including Aselsan and Tübitak (Turkish Institution of Scientific and Technological Research) in railway-focused matters as well as governance, strategy and leadership.  Arban has a partnership with Arden Coaching through which they represent the Chicago-based International Consortium for Organizational Resilience in Turkey, helping organizations measure and enhance their resilience.  Arban served on the Advisory Board of ICterra Information and Communication Technologies. She teaches leadership in the SAHA-Defense and Aviation Cluster-MBA program and provides executive coaching.

She joined Summa Advisory Board in 2023 and is now accompanying Summa on the path of organizational development and corporate governance.
