Muharrem Yılmaz completed his primary education in Karacabey, secondary education at Galatasaray High School, and graduated from Uludağ University, Faculty of Economics, in 1980.
He began his professional career at Sütaş and was appointed General Manager in 1989. Since 2005, he has been serving as Chairman of the Board of Sütaş Group companies.
Alongside his business career, Muharrem Yılmaz has taken on various roles in non-governmental organizations. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Young Businessmen Association (TÜGİAD) between 1999–2002, Chairman of the Board of the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD) between 2011–2013, and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) between 2013–2014. He is currently a Member of the TÜSİAD High Advisory Council and Chairman of the Galatasaray Education Foundation.
Fluent in French and English, Muharrem Yılmaz is married with three children.
