Tanla Yumrukçal – Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD) – Secretary General
Born in İstanbul in 1977, Tanla Yumrukçal received her B.S. in Business Administration/Management from Bilkent University in 1999 before starting her professional career as Auditor at the auditing department at the İstanbul office of Deloitte. For 3.5 years, she took part in projects including the auditing of Turkey’s leading national and international companies such as Turkish Airlines, Procter&Gamble, Netaş, Karsan as well as valuation and consolidation projects for various companies.
Following Deloitte, she moved into the Corporate Finance department of İş Yatırım where she took part in large scale public offering and privatization projects including the IPO of DESA Deri, secondary offering of Turkish Airlines, and privatization of TEKEL Alcoholic Beverages.
At Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri, she was involved in international GSM tenders and acquisition projects as Manager, Investments & Subsidiaries. For five years, she took part in projects for the acquisition of Superonline and the 3rd largest GSM operator in Belarus as well as the establishment of various subsidiaries.
In 2013, she joined Yıldız Holding as Director, Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Development. Throughout her nearly 7-year-long tenure, she was involved in the acquisition projects of companies such as DiaSA, DeMet’s Candy Company, Aytaç Gıda, Adapazarı Sugar Plant as well as the acquisition project team of the largest international acquisition by a Turkish Company in the history – the United Biscuits acquisition. She completed divestiture projects of beverage business unit of Yıldız Holding as well as divestiture of Örgen Gıda, Farmamak Packaging, Starcity Shopping Center. In addition to various liquidation, merger and carve-out transactions, she most recently took part in the IPO of ŞOK Markets and the divestiture project of GODIVA’s Japan and South Korea operations.
Together with her project teams, she won the M&A/Acquisition Finance of the Year (2015-Bonds & Loans), Best M&A Deal in EMEA (2015-EMEA Finance), Best M&A Deal of the Year (2017-EMEA Finance) and Corporate Organizational Performance Award (2018-M&A Advisors) awards.
Since March 15, 2021, Tanla Yumrukçal has been the Secretary General of the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey.
