Strategy President of SOCAR Turkey
Kanan Mirzayev, born in Azerbaijan in 1987, is married and has two children. After graduating from Azerbaijan State University of Economics Department of Finance, he received his master’s degree at Aston University Industrial Business Management Department in England. He has Executive Diploma in Management from Chartered Management Institute and completed HBS Executive Program between 2018-2019.
Between 2004-2011, he has undertaken different duties in SOCAR’s various international projects and companies in the fields of Operation, HSE and Quality. He worked as HSE Supervisor in Baku Wind Energy Project between 2011-2012, Business Analyst at SOCAR Investment Department between October 2013 – June 2014, Senior Business Analyst and Deputy CEO at SOCAR Energy Greece between June 2014 – October 2016. He served as Deputy General Manager of Strategy and Business Development at Petkim between October 2016 and November 2019, and as Head of Business Excellence in the Refinery and Petrochemical Business Unit between November 2019 and September 2020. As of October 2020, he has been appointed to Chief Strategy Officer of SOCAR Turkey. In October 2020, he was appointed as the Strategy President of SOCAR Turkey, and in September 2023, he was appointed as the Acting President of the Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit. He has an excellence command of English, Russian and Greek.
